History of the project
Decentraland began its development in 2015 to prove the possibility of the concept of property rights distribution in blockchain. Initially this was implemented as pixels on an infinite two-dimensional grid, an experiment called "Decentraland's Stone Age”.
The team began developing "Bronze Age," a three-dimensional virtual world divided into sections of land, in late 2016.
The next version of Decentraland was "Iron Age," a virtual world that creates a social experience with an economy. In this age, developers will be able to create apps on top of Decentraland, distribute them to other users, and monetize them.
